We have been getting a lot of feed back from our customers about fuel tanks being contaminated. This mainly happens during or shortly after storms which usually occur because of fuel delivery. You run your tanks low and call for a bulk fuel truck to come out and fill you up. So all that sludge and debris on the bottom get stirred up and straight to the filter it goes! Some of you have installed fuel/water separators with the clear bowl so you can see all of this once it happens. So if this happens get those extra fuel filters we keep telling you to have on hand out and replace the dirty ones. WAIT!! OK now that we have you attention lets talk about how to prefill a fuel filter. No you DO NOT pour fuel into the big hole in the middle! This will put any trash and debris from that can you are using on the clean side of the fuel filter. So we have to plug off the big hole in the middle and slowly fill it from the small holes on the outside edge of filter. Now that the filter is full we spin it on and away she goes!
If you think your tanks are dirty call us and we can clean your fuel system before it puts you in the dark.
